Hail, wind, and the adjuster
Storm damage restoration and insurance claims
We are an insurance claims specialist and offer a free consultation and assistance with your insurance claims. Emergency services are available when the roof is open and the weather is not finished.
Chapter 01
What hail actually does to an asphalt shingle
Hail damage is mostly invisible from the ground, which is the single biggest reason homeowners miss their claim window. A hailstone does not usually punch through a shingle. It bruises it: the impact fractures the fiberglass mat underneath and knocks granules loose around the strike.
Those granules are the shingle's sunscreen. Once they are gone the exposed asphalt starts to oxidize and the mat keeps cracking outward from the bruise. The roof looks fine from the driveway and then fails three or four years later, long after the claim would have been paid.
Wind damage reads differently. It lifts tabs and breaks the seal strip, so the shingle lies flat again once the wind drops and looks untouched, but it is no longer bonded and the next storm takes it. Both need someone on the roof, chalking hits and photographing test squares.

We file with you and meet the adjuster on the roof
The consultation is free and so is the inspection. We get on the roof, mark a test square on each slope, photograph the strikes with a scale in frame, and check the soft metals: gutters, downspouts, vents and flashing dent before shingles do and they are often the clearest evidence that a storm actually hit this address.
That documentation is the claim. When the adjuster comes out we meet them on the roof rather than leaving you to interpret a report afterwards. Adjusters are working a queue and a slope that gets looked at from a ladder is a slope that gets underwritten from a ladder, which is how real damage ends up marked as wear and tear.
We are not a public adjuster and we do not negotiate your settlement for you. What we do is make sure the physical evidence on your roof is documented properly and represented accurately while the person writing the estimate is standing on it.
Chapter 03
What your policy pays for, and what it does not
Most Oklahoma homeowner policies cover sudden storm damage and specifically exclude wear, age and deferred maintenance. That line is where nearly every disputed roof claim lives, and it is why documentation beats argument.
Two things worth knowing before you file. Policies here increasingly carry a separate, higher wind and hail deductible, often a percentage of the dwelling value rather than a flat sum, so the number that applies to a roof claim may not be the deductible you remember. And many are now actual cash value on the roof rather than replacement cost, which means depreciation comes off the settlement.
None of that is a reason to skip the inspection. It is a reason to know the answer before you file, and we will tell you honestly when the damage we find is not worth a claim against your particular policy. 0% financing is available through GreenSky when a roof needs replacing outside of one.
